EY Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Ernst & Young Global Limited, commonly known as Ernst & Young or simply EY, is a multinational professional services network with headquarters in London, United Kingdom. EY is one of the largest professional services networks in the world. Along with Deloitte, KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers, it is considered one of the Big Four accounting firms. It primarily provides assurance (which includes financial audit), tax, consulting and advisory services to its clients. Like many of the larger accounting firms in recent years, EY has expanded into markets adjacent to accounting, including strategy, operations, HR, technology, and financial services consulting.

A former senior consultant mentioned, "Ernst & Young is a poor company, constant micromanagement, employement regulation stricter each quarter, they say they value work-life balance... well do not trust them!"

"No work life balance at all"

Current Employee - Audit Senior says

"lots of hours, will find ways to get rid of employees under the table, and lots of ethically wrong things that you are forced to do for clients"

Former Employee - FSO Consultant says

"Very little meaningful work. No one cares so long as they bill the client as many hours as possible. Even if the work is done incorrectly, don't speak up otherwise you'll be put ona PIP plan"

Current Employee - Consultant says

"Cliquey, fake diversity and anti-racism agendas"

Former Employee - Tax Staff says

"poor training, isolated, no team camraderie"

Current Employee - Assurance Associate says

"Salary, busy season, walkthroughs, salary"

Former Employee - Assurance Staff says

"The hours are inhumane considering there is not OT pay. The overtime (50-70 hours) can span for several months, even up to half the year. Not a team feel since most people are just there to get the promotions and raises."

Current Employee - Tax Staff I says

"Seniors are so squeezed during busy season that they don't have the time, energy and patience to train a staff to be successful at performing the task assigned. Some senior would expect a staff to perform all the tasks with very little guidance, and gave mean reviews afterwards. As a result, the staff get blamed and could be taken off from engagements. If it happened, staff could be put on engagements totally irrelevant to their service line, and typically those engagements are not the type that anyone would be happy to be on. Also, a significant amount of the staff level work is outsourced to India to save cost and make more money for the partners. Therefore, U.S. staff utilization could be very low, and the staff get blamed again for having low utilization. In busy season, seniors typically work 10 AM to 2 AM everyday for 2 months, and it's not nice to work with someone who has 4-5 hours of sleep."

Current Employee - Manager says

"As white male privileged as it gets"

Former Employee - Analyst says

"making people work 12+ hours a day the people in the SDC make 30% + less than regular EY employee, under the guise of work life balance, however they seem to been talking advantage of the current times by having people work ridiculous hours"

"The culture of this company was very shady, however with this being said I was able to learn emergency repair technique on various systems mainly because service was refused from various trades. The experience was invaluable in my opinion and I do not regret working here."

Manager (Former Employee) says

"Better not to join EY ever. I would not recommend anyone to join who's from a good consulting background. This company do not value good and qualitative individuals"

Sr. Consultant (Current Employee) says

"lack of requirement knowledge with the hiring team, most of them don't know the requirement and place resource based on the rapport and expect us to get going with the process, though we are from different domain. no bench period, no travel expense given, increasing business is one of the competencies i.g. act as sales. lot of dirty politics"

Sr. Consultant (Former Employee) says

"Worst work culture and work ethics. Only people who can do flattery can survive here. One person is over burdened nad senior staff members only focus on submitting their local bills. Not good work culture."

Executive Assistant (Former Employee) says

"I love the people who work at EY. However the roles that are core to business are ignored and taken advantage of. There's no benefits or perks for Core Business Staff"

No recomiendo a nadie. Es perdida de tiempo."

Asistente (Former Employee) says

"Es una empresa buena pero con mala gerencia hay maltrato y para poder una promoción o aumento es muy difícilEs un buen lugar que con una gerencia con calidad humana sería otra cosa pq es un buen lugarLas personas que tienen el poder son muy duras con la gente"

Assistant Auditor (Former Employee) says

Aprendiz Sena (Former Employee) says

"Es una mala empresa donde uno tiene un aprendizaje muy bueno pero los de mayor rango son abusivos con los trajadoresAprendizajeNo hay ni descanso para tomar un cafe"

Assurance, Senior (Current Employee) says

"EY Edinburgh: horrible culture; long unpaid hours; VERY political; hierarchy driven; relocated across the UK in hard to get to places with no help booking travel or accommodation; the amount of people that join to get their CA and just leave once qualified is astonishing; you will be treated as a resource, not a human; the business is constantly winning clients but people are leaving so the pressure is immense. Pro's: My prison sentence at EY Edinburgh office has ended I have a new job now that I am qualified."

Consulente (Former Employee) says

"Faccio presente che gira voce molto fondata circa i commenti positivi in questo portale, sono creati ad hoc dall'ufficio hr di ey. Se notate bene hanno tutti lo stesso tono e dicono le stesse cose. Arrivano a fare anche questo, è lo specchio di come si lavora, falsi in tutto e stipendi da fame. Famosi per avere revisionato senza rilievi il bilancio di bio on. La prossima arthur andersen. Scappate per chi è ancora in tempo."

Organizational Change Management Lead (Former Employee) says

"This was not a good experience. Worked for a Manager that had 3 previous new hire turnovers within a 6 month time frame. It was like being in a boarding school. Micro-managed a lot. I was hired to do one thing and after I started the position changed."

Senior Consultant (Current Employee) says

"Poor company, constant micromanagement, employement regulation stricter each quarter, they say they value work-life balance... well do not trust them!NothingWork-life balance, micromanagement, management far away from reality, constant employement regulation changes."

Manager - Risk Advisory (Former Employee) says

"If you have an offer just from this firm, take it. If you have offer from the other Big 4 firms, take the others. Culture and the way they treat people (aka employee) are the worst. They are the cheapest in every sense of the way. People who praised EY are like people who fly budget airlines, not knowing what even economy class is like. They like to work overtime for no reason, approach and method are very inefficient, and surprisingly consistent across continents. One word: RUN."

Indirect Tax Clerk (Former Employee) says

"They fire you without notice inconsiderate unprofessional not caring. Smile in your face stab you in the back not a good place to work ...... ,,........"
